God is the King of the supernatural realm called Heaven. He is also the Creator of the earth. (Genesis 1). God created a man named Adam in the likeness and image of God, and he became the king and ruler of the earth. Through disobedience of God’s commandment of “Don’t eat from the tree of knowledge of good and evil,” he lost the earthly kingdom. Man’s rule was now in the hands of a disobedient cherub we now call the devil.

But the gifts and calling of God are irrevocable, which means mankind still has dominion on earth. God sent His Son, Jesus, to restore the lost earthly kingdom to man. God gifted to mankind His son Jesus to restore what was lost. Gifting is a fundamental principle of the Kingdom of Heaven.

The power of the kings is displayed in their wealth. It is his reputation – his glory to show everyone. A king who is trying to show off his reputation or glory tries to out-give another king. Giving places a demand on the king’s wealth; for he cannot be out-given.

A gift reveals our value or “worth-ship” of the King. We worship Him with all that we have. This worship demands a blessing or gift from the Lord God, for He cannot be outdone. Giving to a King attracts His love. It also acknowledges His ownership of everything. It is Thanksgiving and praise to the Lord God for blessing you in all that you do for Him.
