In Concept #4, the constitution is the documented aspirations, desires, and hopes of the king for His people. The law is to protect the constititution and to secure the Kingdom citizens rights that the constitution guarantees to them. The laws enforce and protect how the Kingdom operates.
The Bible is the Kingdom of Heaven’s constitution. It establishes the standards for Kingdom living. It lays out the penalities for disobedience. The Bible is also the Kingdom’s law book.
Kingdom of Heaven’s laws are designed to provide a safe environment for us where we can live in peace or shalom, protection, and trust in our King Jesus’ kingdom.
Psalm 19:7 The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple: 8 The statutes of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes; 9 The fear of the Lord is clean, enduring forever; the judgments of the Lord are true and righteous altogether. 10 More to be desired are they than gold, Yea, that much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb. 11 Moveover by them Your servant is warned, and in keeping them there is great reward. (NKJV)
When discussing this verse in his book Kingdom Principles, Dr. Myles Munroe stated: What does the law of the Lord do for us? It revives our spirit, gives us wisdom, and fills us with joy. It enlightens our minds and emboldens us with confidence because of its permanence and uprightness. It enriches us with wealth much greater than earthly riches and leaves a sweet taste in our mouths. It warns us against danger and foolishness that could destroy our lives and places us on the path to “great reward.” (page143).
Our Creator God designed principles that everything functions. These principles are called natural laws. As long as animals and plants follow these laws, they prosper and flourish as they were designed to be. But if there is a violation to the natural law, then there becomes a dysfunction. As long as mankind acknowledges and submits to these laws, then they will as well prosper and flourish in the purpose and design in God’s Kingdom. Obeying God’s law, you will be protected and be able to fulfill your purpose that God created you for. But disobey the law and you will risk forfeiting your purpose on earth.
The constitutional covenant of the Kingdom of Heaven is backed by the laws of God. The covenant gives specific blessings and benefits in obedience to God’s laws. When we violate the covenant, the blessings are taken away and the consequences start. But when we repent in Jesus’ Name and are truly sorry for the violation or sin, then the consequences will be taken away and the blessings will be restored.
The Bible is the written Word of God; His laws for us. The written law was necessary because of our rebellion against God which caused a separation between us and Lord God. The written law is to restore the natural law back to our conscience that was destroyed because of our separation. Natural law is the fundamental operating principle of the Kingdom of Heaven.
