The kingdom laws and principles that must be obeyed by its citizens in order for the citizens to reap the benefits and blessings from his citizenship privileges and rights. These laws and principles were called by Jesus our King; Keys of the Kingdom. We call these Keys the Scriptures. The problem is that we have all fo these keys but we don’t know which key unlocks which door.
Life in the Kingdom of Heaven is really about returning to God’s authority on earth and how to live and function in that authority. We must have this mindset to function as God’s ambassadors.
Through Adam and Eve’s rebellion against God, we are outside of the Kingdom of heaven. Because of Jesus’ sacrifice on the Cross and His resurrection in triumph, we now have the right to become naturalized citizens of God’s Kingdom, with all the rights and privileges of being a child of the King of the Universe.
Matthew 16:19 (NKJV) And I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.
Jesus was stating these keys of the kingdom is what unlocks the power of the Kingdom and allows it to work in our lives. Only citixens of the Kingdom has these keys. The key to these keys is knowledge; knowing what the keys are and how to utilize them.
Luke 8:10 (NKJV) And He said; To you it has been given to know the mysteries of the Kingdom of God, but to the rest it is given in parables, in that seeing they may not see, and hearing they might not understand,
The Kingdom of God is not a secret society because the keys of the Kingdom must be learned. A miracle is something that man cannot explain; it seems to defy the laws of nature. But Jesus said the miracles He performed were not miracles, He knew how to use the keys of Kingdom. He knew which one key goes into a lock to unlock prosperity, healing, peace, authority, etc, We as His disciples are to do the same when we learn how to utilize these keys.
John 14:12 (NKJV) Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father. 13 And whatever you ask in My Name, that I will do,that the Father may be glorified in the Son.. 14 If you ask anything in My Name, will do it.
We utilize these keys by asking in Jesus’ Name. When we do this in prayer, Jesus said He will do the thing we asked. BUT we need to be asking utilizing the keys for the advancement of the Kingdom of God. Through the key of prayer in Jesus’ Name, we unlock the storehouses in the Kingdom of Heaven.
Keys mean authority. When Jesus gave us the keys of the Kingdom, He was giving us the authority to bind and loose anything in the earth. He gave us His authority. He gave us access to Heaven’s resources. Possessing the key defines ownership to whatever the key unlocks. Possessing the key also controls the lock; when it opens, or closes, and even who has access to it.
These keys are laws that are fixed, reliable, and never change. When used correctly they always work. These keys are principles that work under the fixed laws. When Jesus gave us the keys, He gave us the principles which the Kingdom of Heaven operates. When we learn the laws and the principles of the Kingdom, we will have available to us all the resources of Heaven. The keys of the Kingdom activate the power of heaven so we as citizens can enjoy our rights and privileges.
